The challenge
Show what a small venue’s website can be: warm, fast on mobile, with a menu that’s easy to update, and without paid site builders.
What I built
- A static Astro site: zero JavaScript by default, images in modern formats.
- Menu and opening hours live in a single data file and change without touching the layout.
- Booking via a messenger button: no backend and no unnecessary data collection.
- Deployed as a site on bebb Cloud with its own domain and Let’s Encrypt certificate, with a copy here on bebb.be.
Outcome
- The demo loads in a fraction of a second even on a slow mobile connection.
What’s next
The template is ready to be adapted for a real venue.
